A year ago we planted this little McIntosh apple tree in our backyard, with dreams of one day having a bounty of apples to eat, cook with, and share.
This is one of the apples I harvested from our tree this year. It looked perfect!
Here are the total results of our 2008 apple harvest. Only two apples, but I didn't think that was too bad considering the tree is only a year old. We ate one of them right away (the other still sitting on our counter). It probably could have used a bit more time on the tree, as it was a tad tart, but it was delicious nonetheless! We are looking forward to a larger harvest in future years.

Hey, cool! I'm impressed that you have apples so soon! I've read that you need more apple trees nearby to get cross-pollenization (and thus fruit). Do your neighbors have apple trees?
